Our History

Housed in the former Tamassee-Salem High School, Eagles Nest Art Center is more than just a performing arts venue — it is a living museum of Oconee County and its culture.

Through the fundraising efforts of our local community, co-operations, and organizations, the former Salem/Tamassee-Salem auditorium was brought up to code for fire safety and ADA accommodations. The initial fundraising efforts were spearheaded by the Salem Auditorium Restoration Committee and the Oconee Preservation Unlimited Stewardship Trust. From these groups, Eagles Nest Art Center was formed and became a 501c3 nonprofit group to lead the restoration, maintenance, and use of the facility.

ENAC held its grand opening in November 2021 with a free event for tours and refreshments, followed by a beautiful performance of Harpist for the King, Hailey Smith (Atlanta, GA).

ENAC is an event center that’s available for rental, performances, education, and for school assembly or graduations.

Our mission is to host an event center to encourage and educate the community, Upstate and Regional areas in all aspects of art.

Eagles Nest Art Center features classrooms and museum rooms that keep our memories and stories alive. We aim to nurture all forms of creative expression and provide entertainment for the community.
